(John Wyer) AUTOMOTIVE, the original builders of the Ford GT40's for the Ford Motor Company, constructed the last eleven Ford GT40 MK I 289 automobiles after the Ford Motor Company canceled its factory backing. The original MK I was introduced by Ford in late 1964 to compete at Le Mans against the factory Ferrari's.
